What JoltMx does
Most domains come with email you never set up - hello@, support@, you@yourdomain.com. Running a full mailbox for each one is overkill when all you really want is for that mail to land somewhere you already read, like Gmail or Outlook.
JoltMx is an email routing and forwarding platform. You point your domain's mail at JoltMx, tell it where each address should go, and it takes care of receiving, authenticating, and delivering every message - while keeping a record of exactly what happened.
How the routing works
When someone emails an address on your domain, JoltMx runs each message through a short, predictable pipeline:
- Receive - Your domain's MX records point to JoltMx, so inbound mail arrives at our SMTP servers over TLS.
- Authenticate - SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are checked so you can see whether a message is genuinely from who it claims to be.
- Route - Each recipient address is matched against your rules to decide where it goes.
- Forward - The message is delivered to your verified destination, with retries if the receiving server is temporarily unavailable.

Get set up in three steps
You can be forwarding mail in a few minutes. Each step has its own guide:
- Add and verify your domain - publish a handful of DNS records so JoltMx can receive mail for you.
- Create your first alias - choose an address and the inbox it should forward to.
- Send from your alias (optional) - reply as your domain, not just receive.
Tip: Destinations must be verified before mail can be forwarded to them. This prevents typos from sending your mail to the wrong place. You'll verify each forwarding address once, with a single confirmation click.
A few things worth knowing
- Aliases are free to create - set up as many addresses as your plan allows; there's no mailbox behind them.
- Catch-all is supported - forward everything on a domain with one rule. See Set up a catch-all.
- Forwarding is authenticated - JoltMx uses SRS so forwarded mail stays SPF-aligned and lands in the inbox, not spam.
- The raw message is the source of truth - the original
.emlis stored so you can always inspect exactly what arrived.
