Policy disposition

Most checks grade one ingredient. This one is the verdict: what JoltMx's own policy engine actually decided to do with your message - a live preview of how a strict receiver would treat it.

What this check tells you

Your test message doesn't just get inspected - it's run through the same policy engine JoltMx uses on real inbound mail. This check reports the decision that engine reached based on the message's authentication and reputation results:

  • Accepted - the message passed and would be delivered.
  • Quarantined - it would be routed to spam.
  • Rejected - it would be bounced outright.

Think of it as a stand-in for a strict receiver enforcing DMARC and blocklists. The findings above explain why; this one tells you the bottom-line outcome.

Why it matters

It's easy to look at a wall of individual findings and not know how bad things really are. The disposition collapses them into a single answer: would this message get through to a tough provider, or not? If it says rejected or quarantined, fix the Critical and Warning findings above before sending anything that matters.

How the diagnostic grades it

ResultSeverityWhat it means
Message acceptedPassThe policy engine would deliver it.
Would have been quarantinedWarningReceivers applying the same policy route it to spam. Address the warnings.
Would have been rejectedCriticalStrict receivers bounce it outright. Fix the failures first.

An important caveat

This is a deliverability verdict, not a placement guarantee. "Accepted" means nothing mechanical is blocking the message - it doesn't promise the inbox over the spam folder, which depends on your reputation and engagement over time. See deliverability vs placement.
